On Saturday (6th June) whilst COVID-19 had put paid to the actual Awards Dinner, a virtual ceremony took place instead, in which the club's very own Dan Bridges was crowned the National Rising Star (sponsored by Vitality).
GB Gold Medallist Giselle Ansley announced Dan's victory via social media (you can see the video here:- https://twitter.com/silshockeynews/status/1269317934981283840) and he fought off tough competition from an England Hockey National Age Group player, and a young GKing Coach in Sheffield to take the title.

For those that are not aware, Dan has been helping Sunday junior coaching for the last 3 years, and this year he also completed his Level 1 Umpiring Award and umpires every week for the club, plus also helps on Sundays with County tournaments and matches.
Dan (and his family) have always provided a huge amount of support to the club, and we are delighted that his efforts have been recognised.
The club is always looking to support its Young Leaders with coaching, umpiring and other administrative development, so get in touch (stephentabb@hotmail.com) to see how we might be able to help you try and win a National award like Dan!
