What a great way to finish the year.
Hampton came out all guns blazing but were quickly denied a goal by the quick hands of Mr Jogi. A concerted forward press and fast work between Steve Leonard and Dan Bridges quickly secured the first goal of the day.
And then Dan scored again.
Hampton managed to pull one back on their fourth successive attempt on goal, finally getting passed the remarkably committed back line.
And then Dan scored again.
A shot on goal intercepted with a defender’s foot gave Hampton a penalty flick, which was duly saved by Jogi with an outreached left hand.
And then Dan scored again
Hampton managed to return fire with a short corner pulling into the corner of the goal.
We weren’t happy about that, so we got Dan to score again.
One further Hampton short corner took us to 5-3 at the half. Confident that we were in control and identifying that we needed to keep Hampton on their weaker side, we went into the second half and maintained a strong dominant performance...
Leading to Dan scoring again. As well as follow up goals from Steve Leonard and Will Maidment.
With a couple of substitutions Hampton’s fresh legs saw two further goals get behind the keeper, but at the final whistle Sils were the clear and well deserved winners. 8-5
Nothing short of outstanding performances from each player. The team is starting to take shape and we are full of promise for the new year.
All the very best for the festive period. It’s well deserved!
